Summer Cruise

On August 23, the 2007 Summer Cruise got underway with Olympia’s Swantown Marina as our first destination. The crew of C & C welcomed the first wave of boats on Thursday - Rumours, September, My Angel,  and Only Time.  On Friday, Silver Flight, Opus One#2, and Final Destiny arrived, but Ebb N IVE II experienced a mechanical problem while in the Tacoma Narrows and had to be towed to Breakwater Marina in Tacoma. Wabbitt followed along for moral support. Repairs were made and EBB N IVE II and Wabbitt arrived in Olympia Saturday afternoon.  While in Olympia there was time to resupply at the Farmer’s Market and visit the dozen’s of sand sculptures that were part of the annual Sand in the City weekend.

From Olympia we made our way out of busy Budd Inlet, through Pickering Passage to quiet Jarrell’s Cove on the north end of Harstine Island.  With the exception of a lone Bayliner were lucky enough to have the entire dock to ourselves. At Fair Harbor we were the only boat group on the day we were there and the same would be true at JoEmma State Park. Things were a little busier at Longbranch, but all in all it was pretty uncrowded cruise.  Here are some of the pictures of the cruise.
